Dry pea. Sugar pod. Climbing plants have white flowers and few basal branches. Straight green pods measure 3.0-3.5 inches long and 0.5-0.6 inches wide. Round to somewhat wrinkled seeds are green or tan colored. Soup peas have a great, smooth texture with a mild pea flavor. Mid-maturing and average productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage farm. Variety can be used as either a dry or shelling pea. Shelling peas are starchy, but sweet. A variety by this name has been exchanged in the SSE Yearbook Exchange for at least 20 years.
