Yugoslavian Red Butterhead

Gorgeous red-green butterhead lettuce that forms well-developed, round heads with a creamy yellow-green interior. Leaves are moderately blistered and have entire edges. Mature plants average reach 5" in height and measure 8 to 10.5" in width. Soft, buttery texture. White seeds. Acquired by SSE from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, who state it is an heirloom from a peasant family in Marburg, Yugoslavia (now Maribor, Slovenia). SSE Accession # 111911
