Caudell Heirloom

Vegetative allium. Check IA SSE HF member profile for date of distribution and quantity. Donated to SSE in 1995 by Erwin Caudell of Manchester, KY. This variety was given to Caudell's sister-in-law in about 1975 by an elderly woman who was entering the nursing home. This woman stated the variety had been in her family for 100 years. Erwin Caudell grew the onions until 1995 when he himself was preparing to transition to a nursing home. SSE Accession # 114403
