Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum var. dissectum. Did you know that maple seeds are edible? Neither did I. These seeds are from a Japanese Maple that matches the description of the cultivar 'Viridis'; weeping habit, 8 feet tall, lace leaves that are green during spring and summer, yellow in fall, etc. Japanese maples do not come true-to-type from seed, but this one is likely selfed, and its offspring may resemble the parent. Seeds require 60-120 days of moist, cold stratification to germinate.
