Hobb's Goose

Single Image
VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-POLE
Another interesting story about saving seeds from the crop of a goose. Originally from Absalom Hobbs of Lee County, western Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains. A snap pole bean with a very nice flavor when cooks small. Also used as a shelly bean. Matures with 7-8 seeds that are clearly distinctive lumps in the pod. Easy to shell. White seed with a patterned red shape at the hilum.
