C. maxima. Mammoth squash. Very large squash has red-orange skin with light peach colored striping and pronounced to slight ribbing. Fruit measure 12-22 inches long, 11 to 18 inches wide, and weigh up to 75 pounds. Yellow/orange flesh is up to 1.5 inches thick. Highly vining variety. Average productivity and mid-season maturing when grown at Heritage Farm in 2016. Not an eating squash, but a big showy ornamental or perfect for that pumpkin regatta. BRIX reading 3.0. Donated to SSE by John Siegel (OH SI J) who acquired this variety in 1989 from Weeks Seed Co (CV Wee) of Greenville, NC. SSE Accession # 120876
