Crystal Apple

Runner-up in 2015 SSE cucumber taste evaluation. Refreshing taste with a great snap. Small, somewhat glossy fruit with cream colored, lightly corked/netted skin with pale green blotches. Fruit are spherical to oblong and are angular in cross-section. Fruit has white spines on slightly elevated warts. Fruit has pale green flesh. Market mature fruit measure 2-3" long, 1.5-2.5" wide, and weigh 1.5-6 oz. Seed mature fruit have yellow skin and are 2.2-3.75" long, 2.45-3.15" wide, and weigh 7-11 oz. Plants are prostrate and leaves have intermediate lobing and hard pubescence. High yield when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Acquired by SSE from the Liberty Seed Company of New Philadelphia, OH.
