(6 seeds.) Siberian C Peach Seed Canada Zone 4-7
Second generation Siberian peach seed. Cold hardy peach can provide peaches in areas where no other peach will grow. Can also handle some heat and humidity.
Siberian C peach was originally from the Gobi desert of northern China and Mongolia. It was developed in Canada as a hardy dwarfing peach rootstock. Siberian peaches are sweet mild flavored, semi juicy with greenish white flesh and a red core near the center. Moderately clingstone. 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Ripens in early September with very heavy crops that can break off branches if not thinned. Tree has taken -27 F. with no winter injury.
Seeds sent in paper towel sealed in a ziplock bag to prevent drying out of seed kernel. Peach seeds are best kept in refrigerator until ready to plant. Peach seeds that have not been dried out have higher germination rates.
The peach seeds need to be cold treated in order to break dormancy.
Keep seeds in a damp paper towel or peat moss in the refrigerator at below 45 F. for 2 to 3 months
Plant 1 1/2" to 2" inches deep and keep at 65 to 75 F. until they germinate.
