Cherokee (Trail of Tears)

Pole bean, snap or dry, edible 80 days to frost, Grow on 6-8' trellis. Prolific, tasty purplish green pods with strings, dark purple at shell and dry stage, shrinking around the seeds, 3" x3/8" when dry shrunken around the seeds. Pink-purple flowers,shiny purple > black seeds 1-6 per pod, 7/16"x1/4"x1/4". Tolerates shade, some drought (does better with water), flood, weeds, bears until frost if kept picked. May volunteer. 120 days to ripe in half shade. 10 to 25 seeds from 2024. 95% 5 year germination.
