Hubbard, Mountaineer

Known by Eastern Montana ranchers and settlers as "Black Hubbard". Larger than a baby Hubbard, but not extremely large. Grows well in harsh Montana weather. One squash even grew at the top of a nearby apple tree! Very sweet, intense squash flavor. The best tasting winter squash I have ever eaten. This variety stewarded by the Fisher family of Belgrade Montana.
