Curly leaved kale. Brassica oleracea. Attractive, dark purple-green leaves on a solid purple stem. Some variation in intensity of purple pigmentation in leaves. Upright growth habit with an elongating stem. Leaves have highly undulating margins, are elliptic in shape, and relatively thick. Largest leaves measure 8-12" long by 4-6" wide. Plants 1-1.5' tall by 1.5-2' wide at market maturity. Leaves are crisp with a good, slightly fruity flavor. This variety was trialed in 2016 at the University of Wisconsin's West Madison Agricultural Research Station. It scored very high on appearance, cold hardiness, and disease and pest resistance.
