VEGETABLES / BEAN
SNAP-POLE
Pole snap bean, with large seeds also suitable for dry use. Similar to Zona Upchurch Goose (which produced tfar more seeds though planted later) but fatter pods up to 7x5/8x1/2" and slightly larger seeds 5/8x3/8x1/4", 50/oz. Kidney shaped with purple speckles on cream, coalescing along one end into darker area. May be the same as the Ohio Pole offered by OH WE A (85 days snap) from Miami Indians which is blue-purple with white frost. AKA Miami bean. Also looks like Melungeon bean. This one is about 2/3-3/4 cream. In 2014 I got 36 pods/170 seeds/3.5 oz from 6 plants. 3-year seed germinated 70%. Survived 2016 and 2017 droughts (1-1.5 ounce). Ripens 110-160+ days in good years. Not reliable in SE MI in shade. 10 2023 seeds.
