Stockton Yellow

Intermediate day onion. Light brown skin with white to slightly light green flesh. Bulbs are round-ish with some variation in shape. At Heritage Farm, bulbs reach 2.5-3.5 inches in diameter and weigh up to 8 ounces. Strong tops. Bulbs would likely get larger in mid-latitudes. Fair storage variety. Good eating qualities. This accession matches the Stockton Yellow that appears in the USDA Bulletin Growing the Transplant Onion Crop from 1956. Acquired by SSE from Lockhart Seeds, Inc (CV Loc). SSE Accession # 114201
