VEGETABLES / TOMATO
ORANGE-YELLOW
75 days, This is a gold sport of Wisconsin 55 from one of the early University of Wisconsin growouts and preserved by Dr. Robert Raabe who did not know that it wasn't supposed to exist. Has definitely dismissed any skeptic's claim of it having been a stray seed. Also quickly became the favorite gold one among those who grow it around here. Proving more and more to be a twin sister to its red sibling as well. When conditions are right for both to have a lot of medium fruit, both have the same. Past two years for Wisconsin 55 had fewer but larger fruit. Same thing with the gold version. Other than color, difference between the two is that it has slightly less juice. Alternaria was a problem in our area in 2010 but production continued into October.
