WAX-BUSH
Bush habit/wax bean. Tastes earthy, fruit, nutty when eaten dry. Short constricted pods mature from light green to yellow. Fully expanded pods measure 3.7-4.3" inches long and 0.5-0.6" wide. Plants have white flowers. Strongly contracted dry pods have 3-4 seeds per pod. Medium sized, oval, have soldier type eye pattern. Primary ivory seed coat color with brown and purple-red at eye. Donated to SSE by Mr. Lorence. This variety was passed down from his grandfather Lorence, who grew the variety near the Nine Mile Creek in Hennepin County, Minnesota circa 1910.
