Medium size fruit is round and flattened. The thin, light yellow skin usually has a deep red blush on the bottom half of the fruit. Best for fresh eating and baking. A very slow growing and dwarfed tree that bears annual crops on spurs. Not suitable for windy areas. Ripens in late October/early November in Zone 4. Phenotyped and confirmed correct. A very old dessert variety from France, first recorded in 1628, and was originally known as ‘Api.' SSE Accession # 100269
