Cochiti

A very hot, thick-walled pepper, solid red and 3-4" long when ripe, variably shaped from plant to plant but tending long and conical and sometimes slightly curved. Plants vigorous, productive, fruiting very early, thriving in cool spring weather. Grown by Joseph Klein in 2020 for the Collection Documentation Project; he reported that the flavor is delicious, complex, and smoky, excellent at all stages and when raw, cooked or dried.
