Chinese Red Pea

Good creamy texture, smoky flavor. Long, dark green immature pods have a purple tip. Pods turn red as they mature. Some variation in extent of red pigmentation from completely pigmented to a red blush. 1-2 pods per peduncle hang pendent, mostly above the canopy. Mid to late season maturity. Strongly sprawling plants want to climb. Plants pigmented at base and tips of petioles. Violet flowers. Large, red, rhomboid seeds. SSE Accession # 105061
