Plants average 5' tall. No lodging in 2010 growout. Long and slender, curved, green pods. Downy pods have 6-9 ridges. Some red pigmentation on stems and petioles. Seed mature pods average 13" long and 1.2" wide. High fruit set. Early maturing. Pods curl into spirals upon drying. Pods tender and good flavor. Acquired by SSE from Lou Jacobs who received the variety circa 1962 from Mr. Lee Jones of Macon, GA. Grown by the Jones family since about 1862. SSE Accession # 114065
