Uncle Henry

This is a pole bean best eaten dry. The dry beans have a smooth and creamy texture, and a sweet, nutty flavor. The seeds are large and oval, and are a cranberry type. The slightly curved, flat pods are light green and develop a light pink pattern which becomes more pronounced in the sun. Typically, each pod contains 4 seeds. The plants have light green leaves and pink flowers with a central blotch. This variety is from the family of Don Padley of Wisconsin and was originally brought from Alsace-Lorraine, France.
