C. maxima. Zapallito type. Pear shaped fruit has grey to blue-green skin with slight ribbing. Skin has peach coloring at both the stem and blossom ends. Fruit measure 5.2-7" long, 6.3-7.75" in diameter, and weigh up to 6 lbs. Dark orange flesh. Dry matter content: 21.26%. Brix reading 11.7. Average productivity (averages 4 fruit/plant). Susceptible to powdery mildew. Good eating qualities: buttery and smooth. Good keeper. Acquired by SSE from the USDA. This variety is a selection from Blue Banana bred and introduced by Ferry-Morse Seed Co in 1956. SSE Accession # 119889
