Schwartzbeeren (literally "black berries"), are a type of edible black nightshade (Solanum nigrum) that was grown in many of the Germanic Volga colonies. Although not a true Garden Huckleberry as they are often included, these are the best tasting of the black nightshades that I've grown so far.
