Gaze's Special Purple Top

Bicolor roots with purple tops and light yellow bottoms. Faint green color over the top of the purple. Root shape is elliptic to round. Some root splitting in 2019 planting at Heritage Farm. Light yellow flesh has fair flavor. Quite bitter and not very sweet. Short to medium neck. Large tops have light purple petioles. This accession was previously distributed by SSE incorrectly as a turnip, but botanically, it is a rutabaga. SSE Accession # 127642
