Green prickly pods with more than 9 ridges are short, fat, and straight. Pods measure 4.5-5.5 inches long and 1.5-2 inches wide. Plants have green and red petioles. Leaves three lobed. Plants up to 5.5 feet tall. Mid season maturity and above average productivity when grown in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Fairly bland and rather slimy in texture. Donated to SSE in 2004 by William Woys Weaver (PA WE W) who acquired this variety in 1995 from Laurent Hodges (IA HO L). Hodges began offering this in the 1987 SSE Yearbook Exchange and states that it's a family heirloom in Texas which may have originally come from Louisiana. SSE Accession # 114099
