Pole/snap. Good flavor, very juicy when young. Straight green immature pods. Fully expanded immature pods start to develop a purple blush pattern and measure 6-7" long and 0.4-0.5" wide. Mature pods are pale yellow, slightly curved and have a faint purple dash pattern. Strongly climbing plants have extensive purple pigmentation on stems and dark green leaves. Solid purple flowers. Dry pods in late August. 8 seeds per pod. Medium sized, shiny, black seeds are cuboid in shape. Hard seeded. This variety came to SSE from Bill Minkey (WI MI B) who received it in 1991 from Glenn Drowns (IA DR G). Drowns got this bean in 1986 from Tom Knoche (OH KN T). SSE Accession # 104886
