Datil

A striking orange hot pepper that is hotter than a habenero! I once used a knife to cut up a few of these peppers, then a few hours later my mom used the same knife to cut up an apple, and she had to throw the apple away because it was too hot! Peppers are 1 1/2- 2 1/2 inches long. My plant matured late in the season, but the top had been snapped of when the plant was young and might have slowed down production. This variety can survive a few frosts- when all the rest of the garden is dead, I look out my bedroom window and see a bunch of bright orange peppers!
