White Long BWR

Fruit pale green with black spines, up to 10" long and 2" in diameter. Plants sprawling, vigorous, productive. Grown by Joseph Klein for the 2021 Collection Documentation Project; he describes the fruit as dense and meaty with very good flavor; "good for fresh eating...and makes delicious pickles--perfect shape for nice spears." The fruits are "best small, but still good when they get huge and long--resists bitterness even when big." He reported that the variety was "the last cucumber standing in the garden after the others got knocked out by gophers, drought and mildew." SSE Accession # 109422
