Portuguese Monster

Single Image
VEGETABLES / TOMATO
RED
90 days, Wow! This variety produced a BUNCH of 1-2 lb. tomatoes, the biggest was 2.61 lbs. (see pic) - that’s with no pruning, thinning or other special care during a record hot summer. Red tomatoes with clear skin. Juicy fruits, initial flavor is sharp and tangy, yet moderately sweet; good, “standard” tomato flavor. Good eating and excellent for sauce because of it’s prolific output. Regular leaf, healthy, large (15' plus) indeterminate vines could easily put out 70+ pounds per plant with some TLC. Seed source: IL LO N, 2012. This is essentially the same variety as Michael’s Portuguese Monster, as both track their roots back to Michael Johnson of the UK who introduced this one in 2006. He discovered a massive 4.5 lb. tomato at a market in Portugal and shared seeds with many other growers.
