Brassica rapa. Non-heading. Dark green, ovate leaves with purple midribs. Long, dark purple stems and petioles. Glossy, smooth leaves with a open growth habit. Leaves droop toward apex. Plants 1-2' tall by 8-13" wide. Largest leaves measure 8-12" long by 2-3" wide. Leaves are tender with a mild brassica flavor. Slightly bitter and not very sweet. Can eat the flowers, they are tender and have a bit of sweetness. Early bolting in both spring and fall plantings in 2013 at Heritage Farm. SSE Accession # 107416
