Mrs. Martin's Heir

Bush Lima. Productive plants are somewhat spreading as they grow. Very productive. Beans are about the size of most average limas like Florida Speckled. The white beans of this lima are marked in red nearer one end of the seed or marked in dark purple. The bean was collected by two Iowa residence. Curt Burroughs of Liota, Iowa and Glen Drowns founder of the Sandhill Preservation Center. After former member the late Tom Knoche of Sardinia, Ohio passed away in 2013. They acquired this bean and others from Tom;s bean freezer storage. The deeper history of this bean is not known. Curt Burroughs sent me a start of this bean in late 2024.
