Donated to SSE in 1981 by bean collector John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and the Wanigan Associates. John Withee collected multiple strains of ‘Jacob’s Cattle' beans, including this version from his father-in-law, Charles D. Sawyer. The late Charles D. Sawyer was an avid gardener and lived his whole life in Cumberland County, Maine.
