Donated to SSE circa 1993 by Exchange lister James McConaughy (AR MC J2) of Berryville, Arkansas. He received the variety from Ruth Norris of Green Forest, Arkansas. At that time, Ruth was in her 80s and said she got the beans from her mother, who in turn got them from her mother. Ruth believed the beans had been grown by her family for over 100 years (SSE estimates since at least the 1890s).
