SSE received this variety in the 1980s from the Abundant Life Seed Foundation of Port Townsend, Washington. The 1978 Abundant Life catalog described the corn as: "a good yellow corn maturing a little before 'Bantam', bred out from a hybrid by the same name." Abundant Life's founder, Forest Shomer, remembers this corn as a variety that originated in Washington, and was probably given to him by one of the older growers in the seed network in the 1970s.
