This variety was donated to SSE in 1993 by Exchange lister Gerald Smith (NJ SM G) of Bloomingdale, New Jersey. He received the variety in 1988 from a former co-worker named Mike Quigley in North New Jersey. Mike got the tomato from his 80+ year old neighbor, an Italian gentleman. To the best of Mike's knowledge at the time, the variety came to the U.S. at least 50 years prior and his neighbor kept it all those years (SSE estimates since circa the 1930s).
