VEGETABLES / TOMATO
ORANGE-YELLOW
Organic Listing
This selection comes from friend (of Uprising Seeds) and grower Hans Fama in southern California. This world-famous tomato (this listing is for the yellow version, though there is a more common red one) is grown in the volcanic soils near Napoli on the shoulder of Vesuvius. The small oval fruits have a pointed nipple at the blossom end, and their high dry content makes them perfect for long storage through the fall and winter. Harvest the first ones to ripen and eat them! Yum! Later in your season, harvest whole vines to store when tomatoes are approximately 75% ripe. Many people string whole vines for optimal airflow and long-term storage. Enjoy these for months after harvest! Remember, how long these keep will depend on variety, environmental conditions while growing, and storage conditions. Indeterminate. Potato Leaf. 80-85 days.
