Olkhon Island

Medium-sized, red globe tomato. Stocky plants have an indeterminate growth habit. Dark green, regular leaves have a rugose texture. Fruit have slight ribbing extending their entire length. Some fasciated fruit. Slight to moderate radial and concentric cracking. Fruit commonly born in clusters of two to six. Slightly inserted stigmas. Ripe fruit reach 2-2.5" long by 2.1-3.1" wide and weigh 0.2-0.5 lbs. Subtle flavor. Medium acidity. Very juicy. Slightly thick skin. Early maturing. Highly productive when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Donated to SSE by Sam Smith who received seed from Anatoli Kartov, a farmer from Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal, Siberia.
