VEGETABLES / LIMA-BEAN
POLE
Pole Lima. My seed grown in 2026 turned out to be nearly half the size of my original seed. Colors appeared differeant than the original seed also. It is possible that this could be due to the place where I grew this bean. The story of this bean is that Zachariah and Mary (Cecil) Stout, of Johnson County, Missouri grew this bean as early as the 1860s near the town of Cornelia, MO. Grown in this family for four generations. It was the great granddaughter Annabel (Downing) Beery's family who donated this bean to The Seed Savers Exchange in 1989. According to my records I acquired this bean from SSE Heritage Farm in 2014.
