VEGETABLES / TOMATO
RED
West Virginia heirloom This tomato was one of the first late blight resistant tomatoes when developed by the WV Agricultural Experiment Station in 1963. Dr. Mannon Gallegly intercrossed rare wild tomatoes with commercial tomatoes to create the high disease resistance that this tomato holds. Sturdy compact plants are very reliable and fruits are medium sized meaty slicers (6-8 oz) with excellent complex flavor. Also resistant to fusarium wilt (race 1) and verticillium wilt.
