When evaluated by West Virginia University, Coal Camp was the voted the winner for fresh eating quality among all the beans trialed. Pole-type plants produce cascades of pale purple flowers that give way to green pods with a unique purple cast. Seeds are initially white, eventually maturing to black. Harvests begin approximately 70 days after planting.
