VEGETABLES / BEAN
UNSORTED-BEANS
Van Greenhaw of Gadsden, Alabama has been growing this variety for 20 years, though his mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law grew it before him, totalling over 70 years in the family! According to Ruby Mae (Van's mother-in-law), the beans were once available for purchase from local feed stores in North East Alabama, though she had not been able to find them commercially for 50 years. Ruby Mae also believed the beans were native to the area of Alabama, tracing back to the Cherokee Nation.
