Mexican Sunflower

A 4-6' tall, 3' wide prolific, long-blooming annual, Tithonia is a native to Mexico and Central America that adds vivid orange to your landscape in summer until frost. Highly attractive not only to us, but especially to butterflies; also bees and hummingbirds. The seeds are important forage for birds. Young plants need watering, but once mature, they are very drought tolerant. Seeds are easy to start indoors, or sown directly after frost. Prefers poor to average, well-drained soil.
