Organic Listing
Winter cover crop variety of crimson flowered favas, brought to RoseWind cohousing in Port Townsend WA by Tinker Cavallaro minimum six years ago, and grown and propagated here since then. In the maritime pacific northwest, we plant them in October/November and leave a small amount to set seeds the following July. Crops grown after these have always done extremely well. This past year we had a freeze that killed all but about 25 plants before they could set seed; the seeds from these plants may be more than usually cold hardy. Requesting only postage; local pickup free. While they are a cover crop for us, we also do eat them. We don't find these beans as tasty as Windsor favas, but some of us eat them young, and even in a whole pod stew when the pods are picked very young.
