Short and stocky, green to dark green pods. Pods very downy/fuzzy, with 9 or more distinct ridges. Tender to 3". Mature pods measure 5-7" long by 1.5-2.2" wide. Dwarf plants, reaching 3.5-4.5' tall. Non-pigmented. Broad leaves with shallow lobes. High productivity when grown in 2013 at Heritage Farm. Acquired by SSE from the late Dr. James Wolfe (TN WO J) who obtained the variety in 1990 from Bill Benoist of Coffeeville, MS. Bill's grandfather, W.E. "Buck" Benoist, grew the variety and told Bill the okra had been in the family since the 1880s. SSE Accession # 114045
