Casados Native Chile

C. annuum. Hot, cayenne type. Immature green fruit turn red at maturity. Elongate shape; pendant; semi-wrinkled skin; corrugated in cross-section. Mild heat in fruit wall, medium to hot in placenta; considerable differences in heat between peppers; subtle flavor. Fruit are 3.7-5.1" long, 0.9-1.4" wide, 0.5-1.1 oz. Plants are 17-28" tall. Green stems, most plants have dark purple nodes, some no pigment. Sparse pubescence on leaves and stems. White flowers; exserted stigma. Intermediate productivity; 60% of plants lodged when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. Acquired by SSE from Sharon Vadas-Arendt (CO VA S) who obtained the variety from CV Na2. It's a local Spanish heirloom from Casados Farms in El Guique, NM (5500'). SSE Accession # 118072
