C. pepo. Zucchini, summer squash. Bush. Elongate fruit green with conspicuous green netting over entire fruit; mottling and stripes at the stem end. Smooth skin with slight ribbing. Market mature summer squash 5.75-7.5" long, 1.75-2.75" wide, and 5-15 oz. Flesh color yellow. Moderate productivity and mid-season maturity when grown in 2014 at Heritage Farm. Cooked summer squash has good zucchini flavor; good texture and sweetness, especially when small. Leaves 25-30 cm, distinct lobing, prevalent silvering, rough pubescence. acquired by SSE from Swedish CV Hammenhogs at an unknown date. A variety by this name was developed at the University of Connecticut around 1949, and it was an All America Selections Gold Medal winner in 1949.
