SNAP-POLE
Snap Bean. 75 days to snaps. 100 dry days. A.K.A Louisiana Snap Bean. Heavy yields of 7.5 x .5 inch handsome looking green pods streaked with purple that hang very straight from the plants. 8-9 seeds per pod. Pods remain tender for an extended period. Grew these for eating in 2014 and must say they have a very nice strong bean flavor. Cooked stringless and tender at pod lengths up to 9 inches, and remained darker green than many other varieties. The purple streaking disappears when cooked. Got enough pods to eat for a first time single serving in about 62 days from a total of 12 plants. If you asked me to recommend a pole snap variety. This would be one of them. Small seeds are straight with rounded ends, light tan with brown speckles overall. My earliest SSE listings of this bean include the years 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985. Most Recent Source History: WI PL K '12, VA LE J2 '97, GN '82
