Small plants with light greenish-yellow, elongated leaves. Leaves are semi-erect and flat. Outer leaves are slightly twisted. Plants reach 2" tall and 7-8" wide. This hardy winter salad green, also known as mache, is best sown in the fall and harvested the following spring. Flavor is best under cool, moist conditions. Delicate flavor and texture. Plants suffered in the heat and bolted in mid-June in 2016 at Heritage Farm. Acquired by SSE in 2016 from Mountain Valley Seed Co of Salt Lake City, UT. A cornsalad variety named 'Broad-Leaved Dutch' was available in the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century. SSE Accession # 132956
