Chinese Snow

Snow pea with very large, yellow-green, flat pods. Also very good as a soup pea. Pods are highly crunchy and juicy with a mild flavor. Pods measure 4.5-5" long and contain 5-9 seeds. One or two pods per peduncle. Very vigorous plants reach 6' tall and have some purple pigmentation on the stems. Little basal branching. Pigmented flowers. Non-shattering dry pods. Dry seeds are tan-colored with purple speckling, large, and wrinkled. Low productivity when grown in 2015 at Heritage Farm. Mid-season maturing. This variety came to SSE in 2004 from Donaline Rogers (CA RO D2), who acquired it from the Abundant Life Seed Foundation (CV Abu) in 2003. This variety was offered by CV Abu for over 20 years.
