Evan's Sweet

Reticulated melon. Acorn-shaped fruit has a slight neck at the stem end. Fruit have pronounced netting and turn light yellow at maturity. Intermediate longitudinal grooves. Green flesh. Great flavor. Fruity, complex, aromatic, and sweet. Juicy and somewhat grainy texture. Fruit abscises from vine when ripe. Fruit measure 5-7" long by 4-5" wide and weigh 1.5-3lbs. Flesh is 0.5-1" thick. Thicker rind, measuring 0.3-0.4" thick. More resistant to anthracnose than most other varieties in 2014 growout at Heritage Farm. Moderate to high yielding. SSE Accession # 112982
