Gul Svensk

Medium-sized, round to slightly flattened roots are yellow with green tops. Roots are generally non-forked but a few have large lateral roots. Moderately smooth skin with a bit of scabbing at the shoulders. Standard flavor and texture. Roots grow 4-5.5in long; 4-6in wide; and weigh 2-3.5lbs. Roots are half-buried in the soil. Brix score: 9.2. Plants grow 1-1.5ft tall and 2-3ft wide. Prostrate leaves. Given to SSE by Peter Erlandsson (SWED ER P) who described the variety as "a.k.a. Svensk Gul, name means Yellow Swedish, old CV from 1800s, rescued by Sesam." SSE Accession # 119248
